I recently stayed at the Downtown Hostel in Ella, Sri Lanka, and it was an outstanding experience. The hostel's perfect location allowed easy access to attractions like Ella Rock and Nine Arch Bridge. The host was incredibly helpful, providing valuable recommendations and ensuring a comfortable stay.
The rooms and curtains were clean, creating a hygienic environment, and the beds were exceptionally comfy. The private rooms are also very nice, with loads of space. Major plus: the hostel has a (clean) kitchen that you can use! Would definitely recommend staying here.

Down Town Hostel is one of the best places to stay in Ella. This property is just 300m away from the Ella Railway station and is in the City centre. It's a nice hostel with clean and comfortable rooms.
The dorm is very spacious and very comfortable. Common area and washrooms are well-maintained.
I would love to come back again. ❤️

Spent a really good time here in the Down Town Hostel. The whole acommodation is super clean and very well organized. The staff is very friendly and the owner (Shehan) is so helpful.
It is situated right next to the main town and very easy to get around whole Ella from there. The other travelers we met there were awesome and I would definitely come back! Breakfast is included in the hostel and you get very good pancakes!!!

A great stay at Down Town hostel! The rooms were spacious with big lockers and comfortable beds. Breakfast was included and we had something different every morning - really delicious! The staff were lovely and really friendly. They helped me so much with everything, especially with my onward travel.
They got a great deal for me to take a shared taxi to Mirissa. They also organise group activities and tours. It’s a great sociable hostel. I recommend!

Friendly stuff is always there to help with anything like transportation or drinks. Rooms are nice and clean, and there’s water heated up with energy provided by solar panels on the roof. It’s my third visit to Ella and this place feels like nothing else.

This hostel is perfect to spend your time in Ella! Shehan the host is really helpful and organized a lot for us. The rooms are clean, there is a kitchen and beautiful community terrace.
